AgriFoodX at the Biofortification Hub Meeting, Aberdeen

20 March 2026

AgriFoodX attended the second Biofortification Hub Community Meeting, "Biofortification – From Science to Society," held on 19th and 20th March 2026 in Aberdeen. AgriFoodX is an active member of the Biofortification Hub (also known as the HERB Hub), one of six Diet and Health Open Innovation Research Clubs supported by BBSRC, Defra, Innovate UK and MRC. The meeting explored how biofortification research can translate into practical benefits for consumers and the food industry. Our participation reflects AgriFoodX's growing activity in biofortification through projects such as FORTYeast, which uses yeast-based fermentation to create protein-rich, vitamin and mineral-enriched functional food ingredients from fruit and vegetable side streams.
